Serving people has long been a passion for me. From my early teenage years until today, being of service to others is how I find the most meaning and joy in life. The method has evolved from painting houses to teaching college students to now partnering with families and small businesses to ensure proper tax compliance and business solutions; however, the goal has remained consistent: to provide value and to be of service in whatever way that I can.
My name is Peter Riefstahl and I am a Certified Public Accountant. Despite having a passion for a topic that most people find dry and uninteresting, my personality and my background make me a rather atypical CPA. Beyond simply preparing tax returns, I will walk you through difficult-to-understand topics so that you understand the why behind the what. You will feel empowered and thus less concerned about the IRS after you’ve learned the rationale behind any significant tax position that we take.
Because I am passionate about the tax world, I spend time each week reading and researching tax laws and updates. From December 2017 to the present, several thousand pages of tax law updates, revisions, and additions have been enacted. Passed in December 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act by itself was nearly 6,000 pages long! If you enjoy learning like I do, it’s a great time to be a tax professional.
